Ride to Mayapur

It’s been a long time since I have not gone anywhere on my bike and I was constantly waiting for weather to be suitable enough to hit the roads. As the weather was good I suddenly planned a ride to Mayapur which I was on my radar for quite some time. We all know that Mayapur is headquarters of ISKCON which hold special significance to followers of Gaudiya Vaishnavism as the birthplace of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. Mayapur is located on the banks of Ganges river at the point of confluence with the river Jalangi, near Navadip which is around 130 km north of Kolkata.
I started around 8 am and with few halts and slow and steady drive I reached around 12 noon. ISKCON temple is very calm and peaceful place unlike any other temple where there is a rush for everything. Apart from the temple and peaceful atmosphere I also enjoyed the buffet lunch which is pocket friendly and at the same time very delicious. I started again after lunch for return journey and this time I covered the distance in 3 hours time.
